Amethyst is the stone of spirituality and contentment. Its color ranges from pale lilac to deep purple. It has been used to encourage and support sobriety though ironically, in ancient times it was the God of Wine, Bacchus, who was credited with giving amethyst its vibrant hue. Amethyst has been associated with its ability to soothe the nerves in times of stress and make the wear become calm and gentle.
